It’s official: Late Betty Bayo ‘s family announces burial date and venue


Uncertainty surrounding the final resting place of the late gospel musician Betty Bayo has finally been put to rest after her family officially announced the date and venue of her burial.

For several days, the public had been speculating about where the celebrated singer would be laid to rest following her sudden death on November 10, 2025, while receiving treatment at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH).

Rumors had circulated that Betty Bayo would either be buried at her ex-husband Pastor Victor Kanyari’s home or at her current husband Tash’s residence.

However, the speculation has now been settled after her family confirmed both the burial date and location.

Speaking during a memorial service held at Blue Springs Hotel, family spokesperson Elder David Kigomo revealed that Betty Bayo will be laid to rest on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at her property in Mugumo Estate along Kiambu Road.

“The family has decided to bury Bayo on Thursday, November 20. She will be laid to rest at Mugumo Estate along Kiambu Road, where she had purchased a parcel of land. The memorial service will take place at Christian Foundation Fellowship (CFF) Church along Kiambu Road, where Bayo used to worship,” Kigomo said.

Following the announcement, many Kenyans took to social media to express their condolences and praise the late musician for her foresight in securing property for her two children.

As earlier reported by Nairobi News, Bayo passed away on November 10, while undergoing treatment at Kenyatta National Hospital.

Her body was later transferred from the KNH mortuary to the Kenyatta University Funeral Home along Thika Road.

The singer succumbed to leukemia (blood cancer) after a long, private battle with the disease.

According to her close friend Shiro wa GP, Bayo had requested her friends not to share her photos on social media to avoid public ridicule.

Her death sent shockwaves across the country, with thousands of fans and fellow artists taking to social media to mourn the talented gospel singer and celebrate her legacy.
