Popular Kenyan media personality and content creator Oga Obinna has won accolades online after candidly urging men entangled in baby mama–baby daddy disputes to prioritise DNA testing before fully committing emotionally and financially to children whose paternity may be in question.
Speaking in an Instagram video post that has since circulated widely, Obinna said the best Christmas gift baby daddies can give themselves is not luxury items or nights out, but clarity, starting with a DNA test.
According to Obinna, confirming paternity early helps men avoid prolonged emotional turmoil and financial strain, while also protecting innocent children from unstable parental relationships.
“Do DNA my guy. Do DNA of this kid you are stressing with him. Just do DNA. It will give you a lot of peace of mind next year,” Obinna said, adding that he had been following several men online who openly share their experiences navigating fatherhood and paternity challenges.
“There’s a video by this guy, I forget his name. I want you to watch here. I’ve been following this guy for a while now… He also has very conscious conversations.”

Start 2026 With Clarity
Obinna stressed that his advice is not meant to shame women or evade responsibility, but to encourage men to make informed decisions as they prepare for the future.
He noted that unresolved doubts about paternity often fuel endless conflict between parents, ultimately hurting the child.
“About baby mama, baby daddy situations, marriage, things like that… truth of the matter is, bro, go do DNA. For your child,” he said.
“Do DNA. Just do it. So that next year, I want you to step up,” he added.
He explained that DNA results should guide the next steps: stepping up fully for fathers whose biological ties are confirmed, and stepping out responsibly for men who discover they are not the biological parents.
Step Up or Step Aside
Obinna was firm that half-measures only worsen already fragile situations.
He cautioned men against playing the victim or dragging out conflicts with their baby mamas.
“Don’t stress your baby mama, ‘Oh, but that little girl is doing it with me, I’m poor, I don’t know what to do.’ Don’t be 50/50. Just do it. Confirm. That’s how you step up, like the way you’re supposed to,” he revealed.
He also pointed out the long-term financial implications of uncertainty, bluntly stating that prevention and clarity are cheaper than regret.
“DNA is cheaper than raising a child that is not your own,” Obinna said, while urging men to avoid reckless lifestyles that complicate already delicate family situations.
Obinna’s Personal Perspective
Drawing from his own life experiences, Obinna acknowledged that fatherhood whether biological or not, comes with lifelong responsibility.
He revealed that he chooses to treat all children in his life with equal love, regardless of biology, but warned younger men not to confuse maturity with blind commitment.
“I’ll just consider all my kids biological and all of them adopted. So there is no such thing as this or that,” he said.
“But you are the one who is starting… so don’t get upset.”
A Message That Has Split Opinion
While some netizens praised Obinna for addressing a topic many shy away from, others accused him of promoting distrust in relationships.
Still, the entertainer maintains that truth and clarity are the foundation of responsible fatherhood.
