Controversial pastor Victor Kanyari has sparked mixed reactions online after sharing multiple screenshots of private conversations he had with his late ex-wife, gospel singer Betty Bayo.
Barely hours after Betty was laid to rest, Kanyari took to social media, posting screenshots showing Betty frequently reaching out to him for money to cater for their children’s school needs and other bills.
The posts, shared without captions, left many of his followers confused and questioning his intentions.
A section of social media users wondered why Kanyari chose to post the screenshots so soon after the burial.
Many concluded that he was attempting to demonstrate that he had always been a responsible father who provided for his two children with Betty.

Others, however, praised him, noting that the chats clearly showed he had played his parental role dutifully.
Some netizens went as far as suggesting that Betty’s partner, Tash, had allegedly not been as supportive, implying that the musician relied heavily on Kanyari during her lifetime.
Below are some reactions from Kenyans:

“Prophet tumekubali you were a responsible father. We pray that all shall go well for the sake of the kids.”
Jay Ne Jayne said:
“She will surprise you one day… A present dad of the year 👏.”
Grace Kinyua posted:
