Hot 96 Presenter Nick Odhiambo escapes injury in new year’s Eve car accident


Hot 96 radio presenter Nick Odhiambo has escaped unhurt after being involved in a road accident on New Year’s Eve that left his car extensively damaged.

The veteran broadcaster shared the news with his fans and followers in the early hours of January 1, 2026, using social media to reveal details of the incident.

Odhiambo attributed the crash to fatigue, admitting that he had been driving while exhausted at the time.

“Everything was going really well until I decided to drive while exhausted… seems like I might have to get another car soon. Goodbye my cute A5,” he wrote on his Facebook page.

Photos shared online showed significant damage to the front section of his vehicle. However, Odhiambo did not disclose the exact location where the accident occurred.

Despite the damage, he expressed gratitude that the situation did not result in serious harm.

The presenter also shared an emotional message addressed to his children, although he did not confirm whether they were with him during the accident.

“To my kids, I won’t let you down again. I am grateful that it didn’t go as badly as it could have gone,” he added.

Nick Odhiambo has been a prominent figure in Kenyan radio for more than 18 years.

He began his broadcasting career at Classic 105 in 2006, later moved to Radio Maisha, and joined Hot 96 in 2021.

He currently co-hosts the station’s breakfast show alongside veteran journalist Jeff Koinange.

Beyond radio, Odhiambo is also known for his appearances in local television productions, including Auntie Boss and The XYZ Show, and for his commanding voice and signature humor.

Following the incident, fans and colleagues flooded his social media pages with messages of concern and relief, thanking God for his safety and wishing him well as he recovers from the ordeal.
