Karen Nyamu Claps Back at Hotel Owner Accusing Her of Bailing on Bills

Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu has finally broken her silence after a hotel owner publicly accused her of walking out without settling a hefty bill, sparking heated debate across social media platforms.

The outspoken politician took to social media to respond to claims made by Kamau wa Kisumu, who had alleged that she vanished without paying for meals and drinks consumed at his establishment near Mama Lucy Hospital.

According to Kamau, Nyamu visited the modest eatery accompanied by what he described as an “army of youth.”

He claimed the group ordered an assortment of food items, including fries, soft drinks and other refreshments worth thousands of shillings before allegedly leaving the premises without making payment.

The hotel owner said he initially welcomed the Senator with excitement, viewing her visit as a rare opportunity to boost the profile of his business through its association with a prominent public figure.

Kamau further alleged that after the group had finished their meals, Nyamu requested his M-Pesa details and assured him that the outstanding amount would be sent later.

However, he claimed several days had passed without receiving the promised payment, and attempts to reach the Senator had allegedly gone unanswered.

The accusations quickly gained traction online, with many Kenyans questioning whether the politician had indeed failed to honour the debt.

However, Karen Nyamu has now offered a dramatically different version of events.

In her response, the Senator insisted that her actions were intentional and were meant to send a message to the hotel owner, whom she accused of previously tarnishing her reputation through numerous media appearances.

Nyamu claimed she was angered by the fact that Kamau had conducted countless interviews aimed at discrediting both her and President William Ruto.

According to the Senator, her decision to facilitate the unpaid meals was a calculated act of retaliation against a man she believes had unfairly defamed her in public.

She argued that she wanted Kamau to experience the same emotional pain she felt after allegedly being subjected to repeated public criticism and attacks on her character.

“I wanted him to feel the pain I felt when he defamed me,” Nyamu reportedly stated while defending herself against the accusations.

The controversy has reignited conversations around the responsibilities of public figures and the appropriate ways of handling personal grievances.

Kamau wa Kisumu is not new to the public spotlight.

He previously became a subject of national discussion after a viral video emerged in which he alleged that promises made to him following a visit to State House had failed to materialise.

In particular, he claimed that a motorcycle he had expected to receive never came through.

That earlier episode attracted widespread attention and divided opinion, with some sympathising with his plight while others questioned the circumstances surrounding the alleged promises.

Now, his latest clash with Karen Nyamu has once again thrust him into the limelight.

As the matter continues to dominate online discussions, Kenyans remain sharply divided.

While some social media users have criticised the Senator, arguing that disagreements should not justify withholding payment for services rendered, others have defended her, insisting that Kamau’s previous comments about her warranted a response.

Despite the differing opinions, the incident has underscored how personal disputes involving public figures can quickly evolve into national conversations in the age of social media.

Whether the two parties will resolve the matter amicably remains unclear.

What is certain, however, is that the unfolding saga has captured the attention of many Kenyans, with both Karen Nyamu and Kamau wa Kisumu standing firmly by their respective accounts of what transpired.
