Former Sailors Gang’s member Shalkido has been declared brain dead hours after he was involved in a terrible motorcycle accident along Thika Super Highway.
News of Shalkido’s current state was first made public by members of his family through an interview with 2Mbili TV on the evening of Monday, October 6,2025.
According to the family’s spokesperson, doctors at the Kenyatta National Hospital revealed the artist is in a critical condition.
The family disclosed that doctors informed them the artist suffered a skull fracture, leading to bleeding in the brain.

He also broke one of his legs during the hospital.
Nairobi News had earlier reported that Shalkido had been admitted to the ICU, with doctors waiting for swelling in his brain to subside before proceeding with surgery.
“Doctors told us he suffered a skull fracture. He also has bleeding in the brain and a broken leg. We were informed that he is currently brain dead but doctors have assured us they will do everything to save his life,” a family member told 2Mbili TV.
Shalkido’s condition worsened barely 12 hours after he was involved in the accident.
News of the accident was first made public by comedian Oga Obinna on the morning of Monday, October 6.
The comedian who had invited Shalkido to his show held in Thika even posted a video of himself bidding the artist goodbye after the event.
However, the Gengetone artist did not get home safely as he was engaged in the carnage barely hours after parting ways with Obinna.
News of the accident shook most netizens who took to different social media platform to pray for him as they wished him a quick recovery.

Brand New Motorcycle
It is important to note that the motorcycle he was using when the accident occured was a gift from Eric Omondi through his Sisi Kwa Sisi initiative.
Shalkido had come out pleading with Kenyans to rescue him from his financial quandaries by donating funds or even getting him a motorcycle which he can use and make money to put food on the table for his young family.
Luckily, Eric heard his plea and did the needful.
No sooner had the motorcycle lasted even two months than it was damaged in the Monday morning accident.
