Man found dead on tree after murder in Lokiriama Sub, Turkana


Police in Turkana County are investigating a suspected murder after the body of a 37-year-old man was found hanging from a tree in Lokiriama Sub-County.

Police said the body was discovered in the Nakunoit area.

A team that visited the scene identified the deceased as Esibitar Aruma.

The body was found hanging from a tree branch in a kneeling position, raising suspicion among investigators.

Police noted that the deceased had visible bruises on the forehead, thighs, and knees—injuries that have led detectives to suspect that the man may have been killed elsewhere and his body later staged at the scene to appear like a suicide.

The scene was processed by investigators, and the deceased’s family has since been notified.

The body was moved to Turkana County Referral Hospital mortuary, where it awaits a post-mortem examination.

Authorities say investigations are ongoing to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the death and to identify those responsible.

And a man died after allegedly consuming a chemical substance he had prepared in the Githurai 44 area of Kasarani, Nairobi.

According to the police, the incident was reported on April 15, 2026 by the deceased’s brother.

The brother told police that the deceased began experiencing difficulty in seeing and severe stomach complications after ingesting the substance on April 13, 2026, within the Sonic area.

The victim was rushed to Kiambu General Hospital, where he was admitted for treatment. However, he succumbed on April 14, 2026, while undergoing care.

The body has since been moved to Kenyatta University Referral Hospital mortuary, where it is being preserved pending a post-mortem examination.

Police have launched investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Elsewhere, police in Kwanza Sub-county, Trans Nzoia County, have launched investigations after the body of an unidentified man was found floating in River Mto Pengo.

According to police, the body was retrieved by a team from the Kitale Fire Brigade and it was already in a decomposed state at the time of recovery, making immediate identification difficult.

The remains were later moved to Kitale General Hospital mortuary, where they are being preserved pending post-mortem examination and identification.

Police said investigations are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and to identify the deceased.
