A Zimbabwean religious leader has died in a tragic road accident while driving a luxury vehicle reportedly gifted to him by prominent businessman Wicknell Chivayo.
The prophet, identified as Raison Pachinhevere, was reportedly based in Chiweshe and belonged to the Johane Masowe eChishanu Church.
According to reports, Pachinhevere was behind the wheel when the fatal accident occurred, bringing a tragic end to his life and renewing public interest in the luxury vehicle he had received from Chivayo.
News of his death has sparked widespread reactions on social media, with many users revisiting the circumstances surrounding the businessman’s earlier donation to the religious leader.
An old photograph showing Pachinhevere standing alongside Chivayo next to a white luxury vehicle has also resurfaced online. The picture, reportedly taken in 2021 during a Johane Masowe church gathering, captured the moment Chivayo publicly handed over the vehicle to the prophet.
The incident has attracted even greater attention because Chivayo also died in a helicopter crash on September 30, 2026, alongside his wife, Lucy Muteke, and other occupants of the aircraft near Marondera, Zimbabwe.
Chivayo was widely known for his lavish lifestyle and public donations, particularly expensive vehicles and financial assistance to friends, musicians, church leaders and members of the Johane Masowe community.
His support for the church extended beyond individual gifts, with reports indicating that he donated vehicles and buses to support church activities and transport arrangements.
