A decomposed body of a man was found floating on Nairobi River in Kariobangi area.
Police said they are investigating the incident.
A matatu operator reported to the local police that he spotted the body in the water on Monday December 16 evening at the bridge between Kariobangi North and Kariobangi South.
Police visited the scene and confirmed the deceased was a male adult aged about 45 and the body was decomposed with no visible injuries.
The body was moved to Nairobi Funeral Home awaiting autopsy and identification.
Police said they are investigating how the man died.
Meanwhile, two people died by suicide in separate cases reported to police.
The first incident happened in Mutomo, Kitui County where one Munyao Mutia, 46 was found dead in Enzau village after he died by suicide.
Police said he hanged himself with a sisal rope, which was tied around his neck on a tree within his compound.
No suicide note was recovered and the motive is yet to be known.
The body of the deceased with no visible injuries was removed to Mutomo Level Four Hospital for postmortem examination.
In Got Oyar area, Rachuonyo, the lifeless body of a boy aged 11 was found dangling on a tree with a manila rope tied around his neck.
Police said the boy is believed to have died by suicide but they are yet to establish the motive of the same incident that happened in Kandiege Trading Centre.
The body was moved to Gendia Adventist Hospital Mortuary awaiting autopsy.
Cases of suicide have been on the rise amid calls for attention to address the trend.
Police say most of them are caused by societal trauma and up to three cases are reported daily, which is alarming.
The World Health Organisation says such cases are attributed to joblessness, death, academic failures or pressures, legal and financial difficulties.
Other reasons are bullying, previous suicide attempts, history of suicide in a family, alcoholism and substance misuse, depression and bipolar disorder.
